Spring has arrived and our homeschool art class is moving outdoors.
We'll be working on a long warm-months natural journaling project.
If you're following along at home, you will need a sketchbook, pencil, colored pencils, watercolors (I like Prang), and an old water bottle.
First step will be to make a field bag to carry our supplies!
While you're going through the winter clothes and deciding what to discard or donate, keep an eye out for an old pair of jeans or khakis — they make awesome bags. Check in next week for instructions!

If you send me a link, I will make a blogroll of people who are in our virtual class. And don't forget to join the Camp Creek Art Flickr group! All you need to participate in Flickr is a Yahoo e-mail. Any questions? E-mail me!

where do i sign ? ? ? :^)
xo
you're in like flynn, e
why do anything all by our lonesome when we could do it *together*?!
you will groove on my field bag goodness, i feel certain.
xoxo
that should have been *nature journals*, not *natural journals*, which sounds kind of organic and post-consumer, which these are not.
just thought i should clear that up.
!
hey, i typo'ed "natural journaling" in my post but decided to keep it because it's so julia cameron-y and charlotte mason-y.
Sign us up. We may be in and out as finals are looming in a few weeks but we are slowly moving along. So we would love the accountability of doing this and also we will go join the flickr group. Michelle
great, michelle :^) this is going to be spread out for weeks and weeks, and you can do it whenever you like, so there are no schedule problems!
good luck with your finals!
I have been wanting to do this with my girls so I guess this is just the push we need-so count us in Me and 2 girls! SO is this all I do, just sign up and then follow your blog? I am typically confused.
yes, kristen, i'm just making a blogroll for anyone who wants a link to their blog - all you have to do is play along at home, and if you want to, you can share pictures in our flickr group:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/campcreekart/
:^D)
or .. i guess if you are NOT a flickr member and don't want to be, but you want to share pictures anyway, feel free (any of you lovely readers) to just e-mail me pictures to

stef, if you didn't join in today i was going to hunt you down. ;^)
welcome, lori!
We'll play too!
Funny "natural journal" discussion. As long as it's not au naturel. We might decide it's not for us esp. up here where it's always winter and never Christmas :)
jill, i can't believe we weren't hooked up on flickr ;^)
lol re: au naturel journaling - now you're going to bring in all the weirdos to my site .. sigh ;^)
you know i'm in.
do we have a secret handshake yet?
well, it's about time. ;^)
and sssh! you know the handshake is a club thing .. and the club is coming! it really is!
i'm afraid i've jinxed us all into 6 more weeks of winter by talking about taking things outdoors. is the sun *ever* going to come out here?!
Can I put a link up to this on the little people blog and mine. I suggested your site to some moms in our homeschool co op and they were very excited about the lessons. I want to share it with other people. So they can start their journals. Let me know.
my daughter will love this! (she's 7)
michelle, of course! share, share, share. i appreciate your spreading the word. ;^)
yay, kristen, and welcome :^)

Jane x
hi jane - did you guys do some drawing over your school break? :^)
say hi to alice for us - glad you are going to play along!
xo
Hi Lori We start our spring break on Friday for two weeks as easter was so early here in London, they gave us four days off then and two weeks now. we are all laughiing at how American it sounds Spring Break we usually just call it the easter hols.
All Alice's creative efforts went into her egg mobile that converts into an easter bonnet for her school. they like me thought the idea of two in one was great there is a pic on my flickr.
alice is very interested to get the instructions on the field bag and is already telling me that she has seen some nice fabric - i have told her that she needs to think recycle fabric and help the planet - she is to be fair the most environmentally aware member of our family and would as a rule always take a bus and never the car or walk - in central london this is to be encouraged!
Look forward to more info
